Historical Engineers Homework Assignment for 5th and 7th period 9/22/14

Now that you have a high level overview of the history of engineering, it is time to explore some historical engineers.  Read the information below, and watch the video.  Then subscribe to this blog by hitting the atom button on the right, and make a one paragraph comment about which engineer your believe had the biggest impact on history.  It can be one listed below, on the video, or another one of your choice.  When you have made your comment, please go back to the assignment post in Edmodo, and say that I have completed this assignment so that I may go back and grade you.

I believe that Nikola Tesla had the biggest impact on history. He made the first wireless connection with electricity. He made all of the technologies that people take credit for. He created many different technologies such as: the newer version of the light bulb, neon lights, and a possible death ray. He is the engineer that had the most impact on history.

I think Henry Ford made the biggest impact on history. He created a device used to transport humans from one place to another called the automobile. He also created an easier way to go car is it still used today call the assembly line. He is the founder of the world famous car brand called Ford. Without his invention around would it be as easy as it is today.

I think Nikola Tesla had the biggest impact on history because he had so many ideas and inventions that are being used today in the modern world. He is not even given credit for most of his technologies. I think that his time period was not ready for all of the technology he had to offer. Things like neon lights probably weren't used as much back then as they are now. I do believe that Nikola Tesla did have the biggest impact on history.

I believe that Thomas Edison had the biggest impact in history. The reason why is because without him we will not be able to use the light bulb. He was the first to create a device that will help humans see in the dark other than the lamp. It was also more reliable then the lamp because the lamp was fueled by gasoline and fire. It died out fast and needed constantly refueling ,but the light bulb was more efficient and lasted for longer periods of time using electricity as its main source of power. He also created many more inventions and patients for human beings that we still use to this day.

I believe that Leonardo da Vinci made the biggest impact on history. Ever since that early age in history Leonardo's drawing and ideas have inspired builders. All engineers use the information of the past to improve the innovations of today. Leonardo's designs where some of the first steps to what the future could be like. It amazes me to see how someone who lived more than 200 years ago is able envision and create things unimaginable at that time.

I believe that Nikola Tesla had the biggest impact on history because he made many important discoveries. In the beginning, he did not get enough recognition for his work and one inventor even tole some of his ideas, but now we know the truth. Some of the inventions he created were the neon lamp, alternating currents, and the remote control. We use electricity from outlets every day. We would be annoyed of we lost the remote control for the TV. Everyday when we pass a gas station, we see a neon lamp sign saying "open." This shows how big of an impact Tesla had on history.

I think that Thomas Edison had the biggest impact on history. He built one of the most used inventions ever which is the light bulb. He also created the motion camera. Everybody likes movies, he even created the phonograph which was made for recording. Those three prove that he was (if not the best), then one of the best.

I think Nikola Tesla was the greatest engineer in this video. He is the the father of electricity, and is a big impact on the world we live in now. His inventions and studies have had some of the most important scientific and military break through's. His ideas were often ridiculed, but later accepted or people tried to duplicate it. If it weren't for his inventions, we would be years behind the curb than we are now.
